For the next 7 days, if the Lord allows, Jesus will be increasing in our lives  because you and I are going to praise HIm.

Have you ever written praises to Christ? Beginning today, and then for the following six days, our topic for praise each day will be the areas of our life that we have just explored. Again those seven areas are:

  1. How Christ may increase in your home.
  2. How Christ may increase in your relationships.
  3. How Christ may increase in your prayer life.
  4. How Christ may increase at work or at school.
  5. How Christ may increase in your finances.
  6. How Christ may increase in your health.
  7. And how Christ may increase in your success at sharing your faith.

Your daily Practical Tasks for today

Pray as you write out Colossians 3:16 in your notebook.

Colossians 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

If there was ever a verse that spoke of Christ increasing in our life, this would be the verse! Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly! Wow! Today we are going to do just that. Combine that verse with the desire of God to have new songs sung unto Him, and we can see we have a powerful mandate from on high to compose fresh praises to Him.

Psalms 33:3  Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psalms 96:1  O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Psalms 98:1   A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Psalms 144:9  I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

Psalms 149:1  Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Isaiah 42:10  Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

There’s no doubt about it! God wants new praises composed for Him, and new songs sung unto Him.

Maybe you have never in your life composed a song, but I would like you to try this week. You can keep it private in your notebook, or you could shout it from the rooftops, but the important thing is to launch out, and write down praises from your heart to God. Of course, if you want to post your praise in the comments below, I am sure there would be some readers from around the world that would love to share in your praise to Christ. And, by the way, our website stats show that we do have readers from around the globe.

Our theme today is home. Write words in your notebook that praise Jesus Christ regarding home. Here is my praise, for you and the whole world to see:

I praise you, Jesus,
You have given me a home.
I praise you, Lord, for the wonderful family
You have placed me in.

Oh God, You are worthy of better praises
Than I could possibly compose—
But You know my heart
You know my praise is sincere.

I am glad that others can read and hear my praises to You today—
I want them all to know,
That You, Jesus, are my true Home.
I live in You, and always come Home to You.

May Jesus Christ always increase in your praises to Him. Have an awesome and inspired day in Christ!

He Must Increase, Antioch’s theme for 2017, taken from John 3:30. The devotions explore this theme and how Jesus must increase in our lives, other’s lives, and in the homes, churches and nations of the entire world.

  2. I praise you Lord for the home I’ve been given
But I praise you more for the one up in heaven
That you have waiting for me one day
When the cares of this world will pass away
A home that I am so undeserving of
A home only made possible by your great love
