This is the last day of our 7 Day Sprint together. After today we only have 26 days remaining of our 40 Days of Increase? How are you doing? Has Christ increased? In the last seven days we have looked specifically at

  • Christ increasing in our homes
  • Christ increasing in our relationships
  • Christ increasing in our prayer life
  • Christ increasing at work or school
  • Christ increasing in our finances
  • Christ increasing in our physical health

Today is also the day for a brand new memory verse for the month of March, which you can begin writing out in your notebook. And now let us consider how Christ may increase in our success at sharing our faith. Let’s consider…

You have one, and so does every human who ever lived. There are charts and illustrations that supposedly show how each person is divided into body, soul and spirit, but I do not agree with these. I have seen people base their beliefs about who they are on a pie chart.  They draw three neatly divided sections with the labels, actually writing body, soul, and spirit in each section to explain how each part functions.

This doesn’t work biblically. Do your own search of the three terms and you will see a lot of overlap. In other words, soul and spirit are often expressed in the same way, with the same characteristics. Then, you will notice a multitude of other terms that make the definition of who we are, and what we are, incredibly mysterious. For example, no person is able to adequately define human consciousness. What is the mind? Is the mind a part of the body, spirit, or soul? How about the heart? What is personality? Where do we go when we sleep? What are dreams? What are thoughts, for that matter?

We are mysterious because we are made in the image of our mysterious God! What we know about ourselves and what we know about God is contained in HIs Word. We may not be able to explain the mysteries of God, but we can believe His Word. I cannot explain the Trinity of God, but I see the mystery of the Trinity throughout the Bible. I see the Trinity, for example, when Jesus was baptized:

Luke 3:22  And the Holy Ghost (there’s the Spirit) descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him (upon him-there’s the Son), and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased (there is the voice of the Father).

The Trinity of our God is a great mystery! We cannot explain the Godhead. Further Bible study also reveals that Scripture speaks of “the seven Spirits of God,” multiple times. Go ahead, look it up. No pie chart will explain God, and no such chart explains man.

Still, you and I must believe God’s Word. We know this: Without Jesus Christ human beings must die and spend eternity in hell. The Bible has a lot to say about what eternity is like without Christ. Here is one statement from Jesus about the body and soul:

Matthew 10:28   And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Jesus must increase in the lives of the lost around us, and are 100% responsible. Death is mysterious, but it is certain. We may not understand everything, but we understand the instructions from Christ to tell others about Him.

Your Daily Practical Tasks

  • Pray.
  • Write out your new memory verse: Colossians 3:16. (Yes, it is the verse immediately preceding last month’s verse.)
  • Write down the top three people you would like to see accept Christ as their personal Savior. Pray for them, and then find a way to witness to at least one of them today.

God bless you and have an awesome and inspired day in Christ!
